Mid and East Antrim Borough Council proudly hosted an exciting Larne Community Cluster Showcase Event on Thursday, 27 March 2025, at Larne Town Hall. The event highlighted the incredible work being carried out by local organisations and community groups, providing an excellent opportunity to bring together key stakeholders, residents, and members of the public.

The Showcase was a free event designed to shine a light on the fantastic grassroots community development happening in the area. Attendees had the chance to explore a range of initiatives, projects, and support services that are making a positive impact in Larne and beyond. Visitors were able to engage with exhibitors, learn more about how they can get involved, and discover key resources aimed at fostering a connected, thriving community. There were also opportunities to enjoy complementary therapies and try out a variety of fun activities.

The Showcase Working Group of the Larne Area Community Cluster expressed their excitement about the event:

“We were thrilled to see so many people attend the Larne Community Cluster Showcase and learn about the amazing work local organisations and volunteers are doing. The event was a celebration of the groups making a real difference in our community. It offered a chance to network, share valuable information, and explore the many resources available to enhance Community Development in our area.”

They continued, “We hope everyone who attended left with new insights, had meaningful conversations, and made valuable connections.”

The Larne Area Community Cluster, supported by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, continues to foster collaboration across the voluntary and community sectors. By pooling resources, sharing expertise, and building capacity, the Cluster delivers meaningful benefits to both participating groups and the wider community. With nearly 65 community groups currently working together, the initiative is helping to create joint projects and action plans focused on enhancing social engagement and wellbeing in the region.

The Larne Community Showcase was a fantastic celebration of the vibrant spirit of community in Larne, and we look forward to seeing how these connections will continue to make a positive impact.
